The Tainan Creative Life Festival organized by the Ministry of Culture will run from Sept. 6 through 20 at the Tainan Cultural and Creative Industries Park.
This year's theme is "Openness,” leading to the festival's official logo of a donut, whose shape is similar to the letter "O.” Ten Taiwanese designers will also use the "donut” concept to design artworks for the festival.
The festival will comprise of four segments - "Open City: Scavenger Hunt,” "Open House: New Life for Old Houses,” "Open Mind: Exhibition of 10 Star Designers and Art Salon” and "Open Live: Fun Weekend Nights.”
To help elevate Tainan's image as a whole, the festival aims to shake up the old soul of the historic city with modern elements from fashion and design. In addition to exhibitions and forums, shops selling crafts and design items from 10 studios and 10 designers will also open at the venue. Seven writers and celebrities are also slated to hold seminars about Tainan.
Visitors to the Tainan Creative Life Festival will also be able to enjoy live performances by award-winning musicians such as aboriginal a cappella group O-Kai Singers and the rock band MATZKA.
