To promote a deeper understanding of West and South Asia through cultural exchanges, since 2017, the Ministry of Culture has subsidized 27 teams to establish collaboration with art institutions in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Israel, Palestine, Pakistan, India, Nepal and other countries, so as to carry out activities, such as residency, research, art inheritance, performances, observations, interviews, and field surveys.
To combine grant resources and expand the benefits of grants, this year, the "Guidelines for Cultural Groups and Individuals to Engage in Cultural Exchange Activities" have been newly issued. In addition, the upper limit for the subsidy has been increased to NT$3.5 million. Furthermore, MOC will promote cultural exchanges between Taiwan, South Asia, West Asia, and the Arab world through the “Guidelines for Cultural Exchanges and Collaborative Projects between (the Regions of) West Asia and South Asia with Taiwan."
This current open call will accept proposals up until Apr. 30, 2021 (last date of postmark). Eligible applicants include public and private colleges and universities, academic institutions, legal persons, civic groups that are established or registered in accordance with Taiwan’s law. People from all walks of life who are interested in taking part in exchanges and cooperation in West Asia and South Asia are welcome to participate.
