Actor Liu Kuan-ting has become the first person to win Taiwan's triple-crown of Best Supporting Actor Awards, taking the title at the Golden Horse Awards, Golden Bell Awards, and Taipei Film Festival. He first became famous in 2017 for winning the Golden Bell Best Supporting Actor Award for "A Boy Named Flora A (花甲男孩轉大人)," and then went on to win the title at the Golden Horse Awards the following year for "A Sun (陽光普照)." Over the next few years, Liu went on to make a series of outstanding films, going on to become a regular feature in the various major film awards. In 2021, he won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 23rd Taipei Film Awards and 58th Golden Horse Awards for "Treat or Trick (詭扯)." Liu Kuan-ting has demonstrated excellent acting skills across a wide range of genres and can be said to be the strongest among a new generation of modern actors in Taiwan.

From an early age, Liu Kuan-ting excelled academically, ranking among the top of his class. In high school, he attended the Affiliated Senior High School of National Kaohsiung Normal University, but he found his grades no longer as stellar as they had been. He enrolled in a national university to meet his family's expectations, despite having no particular ambitions of his own. Liu chose to apply to the Department of Drama at the National Taiwan University of Arts, a decision that would start him down the path of acting. However, after finishing his national military service, Liu found himself without opportunities to perform, and so he took up work as a PE teacher in Tur Ya Kar Elementary & Junior High School in New Taipei City in 2010. During this time, he continued to be actively engaged in theatrical work, acting with the MOVE Theatre and gaining experience in stage performance, laying a solid foundation for his future career.

In 2015, Liu was among the first batch of students to complete theatrical and acting training at Q Place Performance Classroom, founded by Wang Shau-di and seven other directors. He then went on to star in the "Plant Theatre" series, and he was named "Qseries 2Q Future Star." This was the first time he began to make a name for himself. In 2017, he played the role of Zheng Hua-ming in the TV series "A Boy Named Flora A," portraying the role as a hooligan with an authentic charm and quickly becoming a rising star for it. He won the Best Supporting Actor at the 53rd Golden Bell Awards, marking him as a standout among the new generation of gifted young actors. Liu once said that when he saw that many of his peers in acting had given up their dream because they had to wait for too long for opportunities that didn't arrive and had to turn to other options out of financial considerations, he realized he was blessed, and this realization made sticking to acting even more of a mission for him.

In 2019, Liu appeared in the film "A Sun," playing a role that saw him combining a sense of justice with a readiness to use his fists, imbuing this rough character with a vibrant inner world communicated through his eyes, his facial expressions, and his body language. His stunning performance won him the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 56th Golden Horse Awards. In 2020, Liu Kuan-ting appeared in a large number of films, including "Sent from Above (喜從天降)," "Acting Out of Love (練愛iNG)," "A Choo (打噴嚏)," "The Silent Forest (無聲)," "Classmates Minus (同學麥娜絲)," and "A Leg (腿)," as well as the fantasy/romantic comedy "My Missing Valentine (消失的情人節)," for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the 57th Golden Horse Awards. In 2021, Liu starred in the TV series "Tears on Fire," a depiction of the blood, sweat, and tears that come with being a firefighter, receiving high ratings. That same year, he won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 23rd Taipei Film Awards and 58th Golden Horse Awards for his role as a young gangster in "Treat or Trick."

Now, Liu has become the first person to win Taiwan's triple-crown of Best Supporting Actor Awards, taking the title at the Golden Horse Awards, Golden Bell Awards, and Taipei Film Festival. He has taken on many different roles and always strives to breathe life into any role a director gives him. To get into the heart of every story, Liu dedicates much of his own time, going over each script repeatedly, pondering and shaping his performance, contemplating the character's appearance, and ultimately putting on a dazzling show. It is such work that has earned him recognition as one of the most impressive actors of this new generation.
