Did You Know That … ?
- Lin's literary adventures began with the study of Chinese classical literature. Her academic work is thorough, disciplined, and vastly innovative, and she specializes in literature of the Six Dynasties period.
- Her unique prose can be characterized by three elements: a philosophical/metaphysical nature, lyrical sentimentality, and a narrative quality that extols "the silver lining.”
- Her prose also carry distinct influences from three different cultures: the reverberations of Taiwanese history, the influence of Chinese traditions, and the styling of Japanese culture.
