Did You Know That … ?
- Unlike most of her peers, Sun Tsui-feng (孫翠鳳) did not undergo any formal training until the age of 26. She began to pursue a professional Taiwanese opera career after she married into Ming Hwa Yuan (明華園) and became a mother of two.
- Growing up in Taipei City, Sun spoke mainly Chinese, and had to count learning Taiwanese (Hokkien) among the obstacles she had to surmount in order to achieve her stage dream.
- After garnering critical acclaim at home and abroad, she served as an advisor on cultural policies to the ROC president from 2008 through 2012.
