'2016 Da Dun Fine Arts Exchange Exhibition'

Taichung City's Da Dun Fine Arts Exchange Exhibition will once again travel abroad on Sept. 29, bringing select artworks to showcase in Kuala Lumpur to strengthen Taiwan-Malaysia cultural ties.

Organized by the Taichung City Cultural Affairs Bureau, the exhibition will be held at the University of Malaya's Art Gallery. The collection features 66 artworks encompassing ink paintings, calligraphy, seal engravings, eastern gouache art, oil and water color paintings, prints, sculptures, and crafts.

Launched in 2007, the traveling exhibition has showcased award-winning artworks and collections from the Da Dun Fine Arts exhibition in many cities overseas, including those in Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, and the United States.

This year, the Taichung City Government partnered with the University of Malaya and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Kuala Lumpur to promote Taiwan-Malaysia exchanges as part of the central government's new southbound policy.

Known as "Da Dun (大墩)” in the past, Taichung City has long served as a flourishing hotspot for culture and arts. The Taichung-based Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition serves as an arts exchange platform for Taiwanese artists, expanding in recent years to become a major exhibition in Taiwan and attracting international participation.
