Four Taiwanese artists are set to present a collaborative media art project at the CYNETART, an international festival of media art on selected days from Oct. 10 to Dec. 22 in Dresden, Germany.
Under the main theme "Body/Sound," Fu Ya-wen (傅雅雯), Chang Hsien-yu (鄭先喻), Aloïs Yang (楊博宇), and Hung Yun-ting (洪韵婷) will present their current art projects at three local institutions – GEH8 Kunstraum e.V., C.Rockefeller, and Technischen Sammlungen Dresden.
From Oct. 8 to 11, Fu Ya-wen will demonstrate her creativity through artwork "Metamorphose" at GEH8 Kunstraum e.V., a non-profit association that promotes contemporary art.
Aloïs Yang, on the other hand, will showcase his installation "Micro-Loop-Macro-Cycle" at the contemporary arts center C.Rockefeller from Oct. 15 to 18, while Chang Hsien-yu and Hung Yun-ting will present their joint project "Untitled" at Technischen Sammlungen Dresden, an educational museum with a focus on technology development, from Nov. 9 to Dec. 22.
Founded in 1997, the CYNETART, along with Ars Electronica in Linz, the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, and Transmediale Berlin, is widely considered as one of the most important events for contemporary media art in the German-speaking world.
With a focus on media ecology, the annual festival invites international and local artists to raise awareness of current global changes through arts.
On the occasion of the cooperation of CYNETART and the POCHEN Biennale, a young emerging media art festival in the German city of Chemnitz, Fu Ya-wen will present "Metamorphose" from Oct. 23 to 25 at Staatliches Museum für Archäologie Chemnitz.
In addition to highlighting the international and regional artists who work at the interface of art and technology, the Biennale POCHEN seeks to connect the artists' voices with similar lines of thinking through forums and experimental platforms on both arts and social issues.
