Taiwanese singer-songwriter LÜCY to perform in Lithuania

Following the success of the Lithuania photography exhibition organized by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in April, a new music exchange program has been launched by the Ministry of Culture as both nations have grown closer in recent years. To promote cultural diplomacy, MOC collaborated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania to bring LÜCY, a promising new singer-songwriter talent from Taiwan, to participate in a series of activities under the program "Summer Stage" in Kaunas, the European Capital of Culture 2022.

In 2021, LÜCY was nominated for the Best Folk Song Award at the 12th Golden Indie Music Awards and was hailed as a promising singer in recent years by many musicians and music lovers. This year, LÜCY will represent Taiwan by performing with her band at a live concert at the Town Hall of Kaunas on May 21, along with other international musicians from Sweden, Germany, the Czech Republic and more. Furthermore, LÜCY will tour the Netherlands and Spain as well as take part in the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona.

MOC stated that Taiwan, as an indicator in the Mandarin music world, will deepen the cultural connection with Lithuania through the music exchange program. The ministry also expects that such exchange will become normality, and both countries will have extensive and close artistic and cultural interaction.

Initiated by Greece in 1983, the European Capital of Culture aims to facilitate the governments to expose people to European cultures, thereby highlighting the diversity of European cultures. Since its inception, the event has selected multiple cities for promotion each year and is regarded as the most successful initiative in Europe.
