Taiwan's dance troupe Anarchy Dance Theatre invited to perform in France

With the support of the Taiwan Cultural Center in Paris (TCCP), the Anarchy Dance Theatre (安娜琪舞蹈劇場) will present two rounds of "Second Body," a cross-disciplinary dance performance combining projection dance with light and shadow effect, at the Le Pavillon Noir in Aix-en-Provence, France, on Jan. 19 and 20.

Inspired by Anarchy Dance Theatre artistic director Hsieh Chieh-hua (謝杰樺)'s driving experience, "Second Body" shows that, through knowledge acquisition as well as perception development and training, a human body can perceive the size of a car to drive through alleys. The work received warm responses from audiences after it debuted as a closing performance at the Rencontres Chorégraphiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis in France in 2016.

According to the TCCP, the Ministry of Culture has long been supported and invested in talent cultivation in technology art. With its commitment to combining technology and theater, the Anarchy Dance Theatre has gained international recognition and been invited to perform worldwide many times. This year, the performance is part of an event organized by the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB) to participate in the Chroniques Biennale under TCCP's commission, showcasing the cross-disciplinary creative strength of Taiwan’s outstanding dance performance teams.

Founded in 2010, Anarchy Dance Theatre is a performance company centered on modern dance. The creative process of the dance troupe serves as a focal point for contemplating how we connect and relate to one another as humans.
