FOCA, a team of acrobatic performers from Taiwan, will make their Germany debut in one of Europe's most extraordinary ballroom events - SemperOpernball.
SemperOpernball is a daylong event that welcomes new debutants, orchestrates mass outdoor balls, and offers an international stage for a flurry of performances ranging from circus, theater, and folk to opera, music, and ballet. It will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2016.
FOCA, which stands for Formosa Circus Art (福爾摩沙馬戲團), is a young band of performers who specialize in acrobatics, stunt moves, dance, and theater. They will be bringing "Worshipping Heaven (祭天)” to SemperOpernball.
Those who will be joining FOCA at Dresden's opera house Semperoper on Jan. 29 include American mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, dancers from the Lido Paris, and costumed performers from the Warsaw School of Arts.
