To promote the classic music of Taiwan, a three-part concert series will be held in September by the Ministry of Culture's Spotlight Taiwan partner in Germany, HoHaiYan Arts (好海洋音樂暨表演藝術推廣協會).
Titled "Liebe zur schönen Heimat Formosa,” the series will take place in Berlin, Stuttgart, and Baden-Baden, featuring classic music composed by renowned Taiwanese musicians Hsiao Tyzen (蕭泰然), Qian Nan-zhang (錢南章), Li Tai-hsiang (李泰祥), and Ma Shui-long (馬水龍), as well as those composed by Taiwanese composers based in Austria.
Starting with Berlin on Sept. 15, Stuttgart on Sept. 18, and Baden-Baden on Sept. 20, the concerts will also showcase masterpieces by western composers such as Franz Liszt, Joaquín Turina, Robert Schumann, Léo Delibes, Julius Benedict, and Louis Spohr.
Additional ensembles by Ho Chia-chu (何嘉駨) and Huang Chi-chia (黃麒嘉), as well as improvisation of Taiwanese aboriginal music are also part of the series. Moreover, chamber music, piano music, and instrumental music will be playedin between the playlists.
"Liebe zur schönen Heimat Formosa” will be performed by Taiwanese musicians who reside in Europe: Huang Li-chin (黃莉錦), Shih I-chiao (石易巧), Lee Yi-chin (李奕青), Lin Chien-jun (林芊君), Liao Yu-meng (廖宇盟), Pan Yu-tong (潘昱同), Liu Shih-chen (劉士誠), Su Li-chun (蘇立群), Liang Han-lin (梁涵琳), and Yu Shih-yu (游適伃).
