The Taiwan Academy in New York will offer a classical music concert series featuring 4 young and upcoming musicians from Taiwan on Nov. 15.
Cellist Chen Nan-chen (陳南呈) and violist Lin Wei-yang (林維洋) are both highly praised young musicians based in New York. They founded the New Asia Chamber Music Society (新亞室內樂集) together, and have been working with international chamber music groups to advocate musical collaboration and promote Asian musicians.
Award-winning musician Wu Tien-hsin (吳天心) is a solo violinist as well as a professional member of chamber music groups. Wu has performed with orchestras from Taiwan and Russia as well as renowned musicians such as Gary Graffman, Toby Appel, Nobuko Imai, and William Preucil.
Pianist Chen Tzu-yi (陳孜怡) is one of the "Rising Stars” selected by the Taiwan National Theater and Concert Hall in 2008. As the winner of the Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize, she has also been enlisted in the "Music Talent Bank Plan” by the Ministry of Culture several times.
