Taiwan-Malaysia forum on AR, VR exchanges held in Sungai Long

The Faculty of Creative Industries, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) co-organized a two-day event titled "Redefining Reality: Traversing Culture between VR and AR in Creative Media" with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Malaysia on July 1 and 2 at the UTAR Sungai Long Campus. This is the third installment of an ongoing series of events in cooperation with TECO.

The goal of this event was to create a shared platform for Malaysian and Taiwanese talents to share ideas, techniques, and concepts with each other through a seminar and deepen the interconnectivity between the two cultures. In addition, it explored the potential of virtual and augmented realities across various media platforms and different industries as well as promoted related technologies and their innovative applications to a wider cross-cultural audience in Malaysia and Taiwan.

The event was officiated by the Vice President of UTAR, Professor Ir. Dr. Ewe Hong Tat, and followed by a press conference, refreshments, and a keynote address by a Taiwanese speaker. Talks were also delivered on the theme of the event.

"Redefining Reality" successfully brought together Taiwanese and Malaysian media creators and practitioners and academics, thus providing a forum for academics, professionals, and personalities alike to share their experiences and techniques.
