'New Village Vision Community: Taiwan-Malaysia Community Building Academy' announces winners of project competition

The "New Village Vision Community: Taiwan-Malaysia Community Building Academy" project competition, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia held a pitch award ceremony on July 4, and screened the event live on the Village Vision Facebook page.

The "Village Vision" project competition has been launched since March, yet the enthusiasm of the executive and participating teams has not been affected by the pandemic. Various activities are carried out online in accordance with the Malaysian pandemic prevention measures, with the production team selecting 25 finalists out of a total of 74 projects. "Village Vision" was initially established with the goal of connecting communities and establishing a system of mutual assistance and development in the community. The event that took place fully demonstrated the cooperative effort and growth of the finalist teams.

The winning teams of first, second, and third place at the award ceremony included "Little Giraffe Story House (長頸鹿故事館)," "Green Traveler (綠遊人)," and "Vegetable Pie (蔬果派)," respectively.

Organized by the Little Pipit Tool Library, the team members in the "Little Giraffe Story House (長頸鹿故事館)" include Zhang Min-yi (張敏儀), Lu Zhi-yong (陸志勇), Li Shun-rong (李順榮) and Muhammad Amirul Afiq. They have been stationed in Batu 11 Cheras for 10 years, and promoted the local reading environment and established a culturally literate community through the books and stories.

Team members of "Green Traveler" from Ulu Yam include Liu Li-shun (劉理順), Li Cai-wei (李彩薇), Huang Zhao-qin (黃招勤), and Gao Pei-yao (高佩瑤). The team put forward the "Sustainable Ulu Yam" project with the aim of promoting the hometown through sustainable development and eco-tourism.
