General and Artistic Director of NTCH Liu Yi-ruu shares about 'Inclusive Art' on Tea Philo

Organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia and curated by INXO Arts and Culture Foundation, Tea Philo (哲學茶席) invited the General and Artistic Director of National Theater and Concert Hall (NTCH) Liu Yi-ruu (劉怡汝) to give an online talk on the theme of "The Journey to Inclusiveness" on June 25. The event was hosted by the Assistant Artistic Director and senior dancer, Lim Hong-jie (林弘捷), from Dua Space Dance Theater (共享空間舞團). Liu shared the journey of creating a friendly and inclusive art environment in Taiwan with the Malaysian audiences.

Liu previously worked at organizations including Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, Ju Percussion Group Foundation, Taiwan Art Administration and Management Society (TAAMS), and Taipei National University of the Arts. Liu has held the General and Artistic Director position at NTCH since 2018 and is one of the few artistic managers with comprehensive experience in enterprise, government, and academia. At the talk, Liu used NTCH, the most historic national performance venue in Taiwan, as an example to share how this iconic space breaks the limitation for people of every age, gender, ethnicity, or disability to join cultural events with diverse programs and gradually makes its way to realize inclusive art and cultural rights.

"Tea Philo" is a series of salon talks introducing Taiwanese humanism trends and social values in order to open bilateral communications between Taiwan and Malaysia, and has held 52 sessions since 2017. The event is free of charge and open to all audiences with registration. For more information, please visit the official website of Tea Philo.
