Taiwanese curator Wood Lin shares about film curation on Tea Philo

Organized by Taipei Economic and Culture Office in Malaysia and curated by INXO Arts and Culture Foundation, the e-talk program Tea Philo (哲學茶席) invited Wood Lin (林木材), curator of the Taiwan International Documentary Festival (TIDF), to speak on the topic of "How Film Curation can Response the Film History: Let's talk about Taiwan International Documentary Festival" and to share his experience in curating film festivals on July 9.

Wood Lin has been engaged in writing documentary reviews, promoting documentaries, and curating film festivals. He is currently the curator of TIDF, film advisor of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, and the juror for many international film festivals. He is also a writer, and his articles can be found online and in publications.

Founded in 1998, TIDF is one of Asia's leading documentary film festivals, and Lin has served as a curator of the festival for a long period. Using film festivals as an example, the online talk shares the process of creating insightful and reflective content through brainstorming, research, study, and transforming ideas.

The host of the talk, Usen Leong (梁友瑄), obtained her Master's degree in the Department of Motion Picture at the National Taiwan University of the Arts. Leong’s works have been nominated at the Golden Harvest Awards for Outstanding Short Films and the Pakistan LUMS International Film Festival and more.

Tea Philo is a series of salon talks introducing Taiwan humanism trends and social values to build the connection between Malaysia and Taiwan and has held 53 courses since 2017.
