Elsinore | '2016 CLICK Festival'

  • Date: May 20 - 21, 2016

  • Venue: Kulturværftet (The Culture Yard)

  • Address: Allegade 2, Helsingør (Elsinore), Denmark

Artists Cheang Shu-lea (鄭淑麗), Chou Tung-yen (周東彥), and Lin Pei-ying (林沛瑩) attended the 2016 CLICK Festival in Denmark as part of Taiwan's largest appearance at the annual Elsinore event.

Cheang brought "UKI - Enter the BioNet,” a live performance featuring over 20 participating artists from the Danish sound, noise, and coding community. In this Bladerunner-inspired storyline, people trade sex for codes in an electronic trashscape; the virus UKI is born and transmitted this way, eventually infecting cities and taking over command.

Chou, director of Very Mainstream Studio, unveiled "Taipei-Copenhagen,” a collaboration with Denmark's Kulturværftet in exploring the concept of happiness. The resonance between the two capital cities was projected through 4D, holographic projection, live performances, and the sharing of individual stories.

Lin, founder of the Taiwanese BioArt Community, brought life to "Living Ashes II.” In her attempt to reclassify what constitutes as living, protocells and synthetic cells which are thought to provide the chemical basis of life showed diverse degrees of animation in a few precious seconds.

CLICK is an annual celebration of art, science, and technology. Driven by the concept of cultural innovation, the Danish festival provides an open platform for audience members to become familiar with the latest innovative trends in new media and contemporary art.
