Taiwan music band A Root invited to perform in Mexico and Chile

With the support of the Taiwan Academy Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles, the musical ensemble A Root (同根生樂團) was invited to perform in Latin America, with shows at the Festival Internacional Cervantino in Mexico, the Municipal Theatre of La Pintana, and the Coaniquem foundation in Chile. Representatives Armando Cheng (鄭正勇) and Silvia Yu-chi Liu (劉聿綺) from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Mexico and Chile were at the show to lend their support.

The first stop of the tour was at the 50th edition of Festival Internacional Cervantino, the biggest artistic and cultural event in Latin America. At the show, A Root danced together with the audience while performing "Snake White (白蛇情人)" from their latest released album "Holy Gazai (邊緣轉生術)" and "OnOn (紅紅)." As for the encore performance, the rearranged version of the Taiwanese folk song "Tiu-tiu Tâng-á (丟丟銅仔)" was performed by A Root, building musical bridges between Taiwan and Mexico.

On Oct. 25, A Root performed at the Municipal Theatre of La Pintana and became the first Asian artistic group to perform in Chile after the pandemic. The last stop of the Latin America tour took place at the Coaniquem foundation, a foundation with the purpose of aiding children who suffer from burns.

Recordings of A Root’s performance are now available on the Facebook page of the Festival Internacional Cervantino and the Municipal Theatre of La Pintana.
