Over 3,000 artworks on display
Culture Minister Cheng Li-chiun noted that the 2016 Art Taipei has brought together 150 art galleries to showcase over 3,000 artworks by 700 artists, including 8 up-and-coming artists from Taiwan. The diversity of the art fair presents the infinite possibilities of contemporary art.

Fair raises visibility of Taiwan arts
Through the international platform of Art Taipei, Culture Minister Cheng Li-chiun believes that Taiwan’s soft power will be highlighted, works by Taiwanese artists will gain entry to overseas markets, and the whole of Taiwan’s arts industry will be driven forward.

Support for contemporary arts
After the opening ceremony, the Minister visited a section featuring up-and-coming Taiwanese artists to see their creativity and feel their passion. She noted that, by partnering with art galleries, young artists are given more places to present their works and receive more opportunities to enter new markets. The Ministry of Culture will continue to support all aspects of artistic creation, she stated.
