Explore the curvaceous National Taichung Theater

Bulareyaung opens for Taichung theater

Loud sounds thunder around the National Taichung Theater as Bulareyaung Dance Company performs “Qaciljay,” which means “stone” in the Paiwan language. The dance represents the vitality of Taiwan and celebrates the grand opening of the National Taichung Theater by unveiling a new chapter in Taiwan’s performance arts.

Aesthetics of the Taichung theater

Designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito,the pillar-free and curvaceous walls of the National Taichung Theater deftly integrate art with nature. The classic design was highly praised by Vice President Chen Chien-jen.

A decade of immense challenges
