Tune in for 'The Next Big Thing' in Taiwan’s music scene

“The Next Big Thing,” a television program sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, has kicked off on April 15. Featuring 45 Taiwanese singers and bands, the music program includes professional recording equipment and stage props akin to those used in large-scale live concerts. To help promote the show and Taiwan’s pop music industry as a whole, the Ministry held a press conference in Taipei, which was attended by the likes of Culture Minister Lung Ying-tai, veteran rocker Wu Bai, singer-songwriter Chang Chen-yue and rapper MC HotDog.

The series of half-hour shows will be broadcast on Azio TV at 12:30 AM every Monday to Friday starting April 15, and on NextTV and MOD Channel 49 at 12:00 AM every Saturday and Sunday starting April 20.
