Besides, "Love Is a Gun (愛是一把槍)" by Lee Hong-chi (李鴻其), the winner of the Lion of the Future award at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival, is also included in the "World Focus" section. The selection of these cinematic works puts the vibrant energy of Taiwanese film industry on display.

A press conference on the event was held on Sept. 27, revealing the full lineup of TIFF and other highlights.

According to the Taiwan Cultural Center, TIFF is the most iconic and influential film festival in Japan, and they have been working together to push Taiwanese films onto the international stage, as evidenced by the "Taiwan Cinema Renaissance 2023".

The 36th TIFF will run from Oct. 23 to Nov. 1 in the Hibiya-Yurakucho-Marunouchi-Ginza area of Tokyo. The festival will open with "Perfect Days" by Wim Wenders, and close with "Godzilla Minus One" by Yamazaki Takashi.
