The Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development will lead a Taiwan delegation representing 40 audiovisual operators and 118 titles to partake at the 2018 Asia TV Forum & Market running in Singapore's famed Marina Bay Sands from Dec. 5 through 7.
Bureau Director Hsu Yi-chun (徐宜君) convened a press conference on Nov. 29 in Taipei to introduce delegation members and ongoing plans promoting Taiwanese films and television series in Southeast Asian markets. The Taiwan Pavilion at the upcoming Singapore trade fair, for example, is a concerted effort to promote the cultural brand of Taiwan under the central government's New Southbound Policy.
The Taiwan Pavilion will hold a special star-studded reception from 2 to 4pm on Dec. 5, the opening day of the 2018 Asia TV Forum & Market, that will be attended by the cast and crew of Taiwanese productions including "Home Sweet Home (我是顧家男)," "Five Missions (艾蜜麗的五件事)," "Scary Dimension (恐懼維度)," and "Best Interest (最佳利益)."
The Taipei Representative Office in Singapore has also arranged for Singaporean investors to attend a pitching session for 6 television series, 4 animated films, and 1 audiovisual platform from Taiwan. The ten proposals hope to garner international funds and foster closer audiovisual collaboration between Taiwan and Singapore.
