PTT Space, an art gallery in Taipei, is hosting the exhibition “Reconsideration of Oblivion (忘却の再考察),” featuring artists from Taiwan, Japan, and Ukraine. This exhibition, inaugurated on June 22, will run until Aug. 3.
“Reconsideration of Oblivion” showcases the artworks of Taiwanese artists Lan Chung-hsuan (藍仲軒) and Liu Yu (劉玗), Japanese artists Taro Furukata (古堅太郎), Aisuke Kondo (近藤愛助), and Yukiko Nagakura (長倉友紀子), and Ukrainian artist Olha Kuzyura. Reflecting on the relationship between the self and others, it highlights themes such as diaspora, colonialism, pacifism, technology, and feminism.
PTT Space noted that as global war and conflicts gradually escalate, the wounds and scars often forgotten in history are being brought back into everyday life, haunting and threatening people. The gallery added that this exhibition reveals those forgotten in history by reconnecting the past, present, and future.
