The Osaka Asian Film Festival 2025 (OAFF), set to open on Mar. 14, will feature 67 films from 19 countries and regions. The Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo collaborates with the festival to host the special program “Taiwan: Movies on the Move 2025,” showcasing seven representative Taiwanese films.
“Taiwan: Movies on the Move 2025” will take place at Toho Cinemas Umeda and ABC Hall from Mar. 14 to 23, featuring “Yen and Ai-Lee (小雁與吳愛麗),” “Family Matters (我家的事),” “Blind Love (失明),” “Breezy Day (晚風),” “The Chronicles of Libidoists (破浪男女),” “Cupcakes, Lonely Cats (寂寞貓蛋糕),” and “Dead Talents Society (鬼才之道).”
Notably, “Yen and Ai-Lee” and “Family Matters” have been selected for the OAFF main Competition, which the result will be revealed on Mar. 23.
The Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo has been working closely with the OAFF to promote Taiwanese cinema in Japan. As the OAFF plays a significant role in the international film market, it’s an opportunity for Taiwanese films to raise their global profile.
