Bangkok International Book Fair to feature Taiwanese creators

The Bangkok International Book Fair is set to take place at the Queen Sirikit National Conventional Center from Mar. 27 to Apr. 7. The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Thailand will set up a booth showcasing Taiwanese literary translations and the winners of Golden Butterfly Award, Taiwan’s prestigious award for publication design.

Wu Jui-che (吳睿哲), the 2025 Golden Butterfly Award gold prize winner, and Yang Shih-yi (楊士毅), author of the art book “Happiness Without Thresholds (沒有門檻的幸福),” have been invited to the book fair to engage with Thai creators and readers.

Organized by the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand (PUBAT), the Bangkok International Book Fair is a major publishing event in Thailand, attracting 1.2 million visitors in 2024 and generating total sales of 410 million Thai baht (approximately NT$400 million).

Since 2020, the Cultural Division of the TECO in Thailand has actively introduced Taiwanese works, including comics, picture books, and literature, at various exhibitions in Thailand. This year, they aim to highlight original Taiwanese content and innovative book designs from Taiwan, fostering dialogue between Taiwanese and Thai publishers.
