The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand has joined hands with the Chinese Cultural and Educational Innovation Association and Thailand’s Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU) to launch the "Taiwan Eco-Island Paper Art Exchange Exhibition (台灣生態島-台灣紙藝交流展)." Around 70 paper artworks by two Taiwanese artists-Hung Hsin-fu (洪新富) and Liang Ching-yao (梁景堯)-are on display at SSRU in Thailand from Aug. 1 to 31, highlighting the beauty of Taiwan's paper craft that portrays ecological diversity and humanities of the nation.

Addressing the opening ceremony on Aug. 2, Hsueh Shu-mei (薛秀媚), deputy head of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, said that the exhibition has positively impacted the cultural exchange between Taiwan and Thailand. She also thanked SSRU for providing the historical building of the Thai royal family as the exhibition venue.

Previously invited to exhibit and teach in more than 30 countries, even at France's Louvre Museum, master paper artist Hung Hsin-fu stated that the works of the exhibition were inspired by the environment and humanities. With the theme of Taiwan, he presents the endemic species of Taiwan through paper craft. His displayed works include Taiwan's national treasure fish, Oncorhynchus Masou, and endemic species-Taiwan Blue Magpie, Magellan Birdwing, Chinese Leopard Cat, Flying Fish, and others. In addition, Hung made 10 sets of large-scale animal portrait works for the exhibition, such as Taiwan Water Buffalo, Formosan Sika Deer, and Formosan Black Bear.

In 2018, emerging paper artist Liang Ching-yao was honored with silver and bronze awards at the International Invention Exhibition in Ukraine. In the exhibition, he displays oriental architectural works and three-dimensional cards featuring prointellect play, among others.
