Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government, the 27th Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition of Taichung City will resume its international touring exhibition project after two years of suspension due to the pandemic. With the assistance of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, this year's exhibition will showcase its prize-winning artworks at the River City Bangkok, Thailand from Sep. 6 to 25.

Hsu Hsiu-lan (許秀蘭), the division chief of the visual arts section of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government, pointed out that more than 60 artworks will be on display, including works of ink wash painting, calligraphy, seal graving, glue color painting, oil painting, watercolor painting, printmaking, sculpture, crafts, and others. Among them, two award-winning pieces are created by foreign artists. The Taichung City Government hopes that the exhibition will be able to promote international collaborations while attracting more art lovers in Thailand to participate.

Managing Director of River City Bangkok Linda Cheng (鄭紹敏) thinks that Taiwan is rich with its diverse culture; therefore, Taiwanese artworks should be exhibited abroad more often. She also hopes that through this exhibition, Thai people and international tourists will be willing to travel to Taiwan and visit various cultural attractions.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung first promoted the Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition as a local exhibition in 1996. By April 2002 it had already grown into an internationally recognized annual event and become a globally important art exchange platform. To strengthen the international exchange and promotion of culture and art, the Cultural Affairs Bureau launched the international touring exhibition since 2007. Over the years, it has been held in Japan, America, Australia, and the Southeast Asia, and more.
