Taiwan to join Europe's leading trade show in Paris

Eight Taiwanese creative brands will join Maison & Objet, a leading trade show featuring furniture and home décor based in Paris this September.

Led by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI), the Taiwan Pavilion themed "Taiwan Craft: Explore the Finest” will be stationed at the "Now! Design a Vivre” section at Hall 7.

The Taiwan Pavilion will bring a wide range of contemporary crafts - including furniture, houseware, lighting design, and home décor - that are made with traditional techniques using materials spanning lacquer, ceramics, wood, bamboo, and gold.

Director Hsu Keng-hsiu (許耿修) of the NTCRI noted that Taiwan's crafts industry has combined designs and artisanal techniques to convey the values of Taiwan. By joining the Paris trade show, Taiwanese creative brands can court the European market and keep up with the world's latest trends.

Maison & Objet is one of the three major trade shows in Europe, having even expanded to Miami and Singapore in recent years. As a key exhibition for furniture and home décor, Maison & Objet Paris is held twice per year in January and September, occupying more than 270,000 square meters with eight themed halls.
