The Taiwanese dance group B.Dance Company (丞舞製作舞團) captivated audiences on Jan. 11 and 12 with a stunning performance at the Theatre-Senart in France, marking the opening of the Tant qu’on danse festival. The festival, running from Jan. 11 to Feb. 4, 2024, will feature the group’s renowned piece “Floating Flowers (浮花)” and their latest choreography titled “Alice.”

The Ministry of Culture mentioned that the Tant qu’on danse, a prominent French contemporary dance festival, was initiated by the Seine-et-Marne cultural association ACT’art in 2023. Returning for its second edition, the festival has invited the B.Dance Company to deliver performances, workshops, and masterclasses at three national theaters and six dance schools across the Seine-et-Marne region.

B.Dance founder Tsai Po-cheng (蔡博丞) created the dance choreography “Alice” based on the classic children’s novel “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and infused his artistic perspective and interpretation into the performance. The choreography made its debut in the summer of 2023 at the Vaison Danses Festival in France. Looking ahead, B.Dance will tour five European countries in 2024 which include France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and Luxembourg.
