Taiwanese artist Ting Chaong-wen selected for artist residency in London

The Delfina Foundation has announced the selection of Taiwanese contemporary artist Ting Chaong-wen (丁昶文) for its residency program in London. The residency program is scheduled to run from Apr. 2 to June 23.

Since 2020, the Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in the U.K. has partnered with the Delfina Foundation to launch a 12-week residency in London. This program aims to support artists or curators from Taiwan and those based in Taiwan, helping them enhance their careers and expand their international networks.

The Foundation highlighted that it received a total of 54 applications this year, with Ting Chaong-wen successfully standing out among the applicants. During his residency at the Delfina Foundation, Ting will explore the connections between immigrant artist communities and museum collections, search for archival records of British naturalists who traveled between Taiwan and the United Kingdom during the 19th century, and reexamine the importance of island resilience in a changing global environment.
