The 55th Rencontres d'Arles photography festival will run from July 1 to Sept. 29 in France. With the collaboration between the Taiwan Cultural Center in Paris and the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation, Taiwanese artists Wang Jun-jieh (王俊傑) and Chang Chun-yi (張君懿) have been invited to showcase their art works in the exhibition.

The Rencontres d'Arles is a summer photography festival founded in 1970, which has earned a worldwide reputation as a springboard for photographic and contemporary creative talents. The exhibitions are given on various heritage sites, suitably stage-designed for the purpose.

This year, the theme of the exhibition is “Sous la surface (Below the surface).” Wang Jun-jieh’s three-channel video installation “Passion” and Chang Chun-yi’s audio-visual work “Françoise” will be exhibited.

Furthermore, Huang Chia (黃迦), a Taiwanese photographer who has previously participated in the Rencontres d'Arles, was selected for the 7th Dior Award for Photography and Visual Arts for Young Talents with “Silence Is Speaking.” This piece will be showcased at the Luma Arles - Parc des Ateliers alongside 12 other nominees during the festival.
