In March, the Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, the Association of the Visual Arts in Taiwan (formerly known as the Digital Art Center in Taipei), and the Lithuanian artists’ association SODAS 2123 jointly hosted an open call for Taiwanese artists for a 2-month residency program in Vilnius City, Lithuania. SODAS 2123 has announced that Juan Po-yuan (阮柏遠) and Hsu Jung (徐容) have been selected for this residency.

Juan Po-yuan, who holds a Master’s degree from the Taipei National University of the Arts, focuses his work on digital archeology, exploring themes such as digital games, internet space, and the queer internet.

Hsu Jung is currently a postgraduate student at Berlin University of the Arts. Her recent work has focused on micro-biopolitics and social movements. Hsu and Columbian artist Natalia Rivera were honored with the Interactive+ Golden Nica Award at Prix Ars Electronica 2022 for their co-creation “Bi0film.net: Resist like bacteria.”

SODAS 2123 expressed enthusiasm for the submitted projects, noting their anticipation for the interactions and engagements between the Taiwanese artists and the Lithuanian art community.
