The Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir (台北愛樂室內合唱團), invited by the Zemplén Festival in Hungary, will perform the concert “Image Taiwan (印象台灣)” in Sárospatak, Nyíregyháza, and other Hungarian cities from Aug. 16 to 20.
Entering its 33rd edition, the Zemplén Festival is held annually in August, bringing a wide array of artistic performances to various locations, including local theaters, concert halls, castles, parks, and even wine cellars, attracting a large number of tourists each year. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the passing of renowned Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, the Choir will collaborate with the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra to perform Puccini’s “Messa di Gloria.”
In addition, the Choir has also been invited to perform at the Cantemus International Choral Festival by its director, Denes Szabo. This marks the Choir’s third appearance at the festival, following their performances in 2007 and 2014.
