Taiwan’s Juicy Berry Studio to perform at Spanish video art festival

Supported by the Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain, the Spanish video art festival Proyector will showcase Taiwanese performing art group Juicy Berry Studio (辣草莓合作社) at Réplika Teatro on Sept. 14 and 15, featuring their work “The Zone (地帶)”.

Founded in 2008 by video artists, curators, and cultural workers, Proyector aims to provide an experimental and open platform for new media and digital art. This year’s festival, running from Sept. 11 to 22 in Madrid, will present over 100 pieces of artwork.

“The Zone” project, a collaboration between director Hsueh Tzu-chieh (薛祖杰) and dancer Livier Tu (凃立葦), focuses on the relationship between groups and individuals. It incorporates a solo dance performance and transforms a chatbot into a real-time interactive medium, exploring the relationship between digital avatars and the collective consciousness of society.
