The National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO) will embark on its 2024 European tour in November, presenting five concerts under the title “Listening to Taiwan (聽見臺灣)” in Austria and the Czech Republic.
From Nov. 1 to 4, featuring violinist Tseng Yu-chien (曾宇謙), the NTSO will perform at the Musikverein Brahms Hall in Vienna, Austria, as well as at the Manor House of Panský dvůr Telč and the Concert Hall of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, University Ostrava, in the Czech Republic.
On Nov. 5 and 8, with conductor Eiji Oue (大植英次), the orchestra will perform at Hradec Králové Philharmonic Hall and Smetana Hall in the Czech Republic, respectively.
NTSO Director Liu Suan-yung (劉玄詠) highlighted that the tour’s setlist includes Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” Smetana’s “The Bartered Bride,” Taiwanese composer Li Yuan-chen’s (李元貞) “The Singing Voice of Mt. Ali (思想-阿里山的歌聲),” Stravinsky's “Firebird Suite,” and more.
