Supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania, the Lithuania Asian Arts Center will host the “Taiwan On Screen” Film Festival from Nov. 23 to Dec. 2. The festival will take place in Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipėda, featuring 10 films from Taiwan.
The opening film will be “Dead Talents Society (鬼才之道)” directed by John Hsu (徐漢強). The lineup also includes “Detention (返校),” “Untold Herstory (流麻溝十五號),” “Salli (莎莉),” “Old Fox (老狐狸),” “Classmates Minus (同學麥娜絲),” “Love Is a Gun (愛是一把槍),” and “Pongso no Tao: Island of People (島上).”
In addition, two classic Taiwanese animations, “Grandma and Her Ghosts (魔法阿媽)” and “On Happiness Road (幸福路上),” will also be screened.
Festival curator and director of the Asian Arts Center, Gabija Vosyliūtė, highlighted that the event explores themes of connection—among people, their families, land, history, and society—as well as the relationship between life and death.
