The film “A Journey in Spring (春行),” directed by Peng Tzu-hui (彭紫惠) and Wang Ping-wen (王品文), is set to hit cinemas in Spain starting Nov. 29, bringing Taiwan’s vibrant creativity to movie lovers in Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia. Last year, the film earned the Best Director Silver Seashell Award at the 71st San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF) in Spain.
“A Journey in Spring” tells the story of a middle-aged man who cannot accept the sudden passing of his wife and embarks on a journey to confront life’s regrets during the damp spring season.
Chang Yu-hsuan (張祐瑄), director of the Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain, highlighted that the division supported the directors in connecting with local publishers and partnered with Moira Pictures to present this captivating portrayal of everyday life in Taiwan.
Founded in 1953, the SSIFF is held every year in San Sebastian city, located in the Basque Autonomous Community in northern Spain. It is a competitive feature film festival accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations and is widely influential in Latin America and Spain.
