The Taiwan Cultural Center in Paris, in collaboration with the Fondation Fiminco, a French art institution, is holding an open call for the second Apolan Residency Program, running from now until Feb. 17. The program will select one technological art or new media artist from Taiwan, offering an opportunity to reside in France from Apr. 1 to July 30.

As part of the residency, the selected artist will participate in various activities, including Open Studio events and networking sessions with local artists, curators, art collectors, and researchers. Additionally, the program will facilitate field trips across the Greater Paris area, encouraging exploration and fostering creative inspiration and connections.

The residency takes its name from “Apolan (阿婆蘭),” a species of orchid native to Taiwan, symbolizing the island’s cultural and creative vitality. The selection process comprises two rounds: a written application review followed by an interview. The final result will be announced in early March.

Established in 2017 by Groupe Fiminco, the Fondation Fiminco aims to promote the growth of contemporary art and advance cultural equity in the Greater Paris region. The foundation is based in Romainville, where it has transformed former warehouses into a versatile space for art exhibitions and performances, supporting artists from around the globe.
