The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Spain, in collaboration with the Fundación Triángulo, a nongovernmental organization that promotes LGBT+ rights, will present a Taiwanese queer film screening program across six Spanish cities, beginning at the Andalusian Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Film Festival (Andalesgai) in Seville on Mar. 17.

Chang Yu-hsuan (張祐瑄), director of the Cultural Division of the TECO in Spain, highlighted that the screening program will run from March to November, making stops in cities such as Seville, Valladolid, Córdoba, Almería, Zaragoza, Bilbao, and Badajoz.

The program will feature several significant Taiwanese films, including “The Wedding Banquet (囍宴),” “The River (河流),” “Spider Lilies (刺青),” “Moneyboys (金錢男孩),” “Small Talk (日常對話),” “A Journey in Spring (春行),” and “Who’ll Stop the Rain (青春並不溫柔).”

The first stop of the screening program will take place at the Centre for Cultural Initiatives of the University of Seville from Mar. 17 to 19, featuring “The Wedding Banquet,” “Small Talk,” “Who’ll Stop the Rain.” Pecha Lo (羅珮嘉), director of Women Make Waves Film Festival, has been invited to deliver a talk on queer visual culture in Taiwan since the 1990s at the event.
