France Festival Off du Dessin features three Taiwanese artists

The Festival Off du Dessin in Southern France, running from Apr. 12 to May 11, features three Taiwanese artists – Yu Jen-chih (尉任之), Cheng Yu-hung (鄭宇宏), and Mori Chiang (江坤森) – showcasing the diversity of Taiwanese art through a variety of forms.

Being held in Arles City, the 3rd Festival du Dessin this year is divided into two parts: the “In” festival, which hosts official exhibitions, and the “Off” festival, which brings together local art galleries, workshops, and art spaces.

Among the 66 art galleries participating in the Off festival, La Grand Vitrine is collaborating with the Taipei Representative Office in France, Annex Office in Aix-en-Provence, to feature the works of Yu Jen-chih, Cheng Yu-hung, and Mori Chiang in an exhibition titled “Influences (多重影響力).” The exhibition is curated by Patrick Searle and Ana Sartori, the coordinator and curator of La Grand Vitrine, respectively.

Patrick Searle noted that visitors cherish Arles for its rich culture and arts scene, and that the city is ideal for walking tours thanks to its high density of art galleries. He added that Arles also attracts artists and art lovers from nearby cities such as Marseille and Montpellier.

This art festival is one of major cultural events in 2025 in Europe that the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly support to strengthen artistic ties with Taiwan and Europe.
