The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Spain collaborates with the L.E.V Festival in Gijón, Spain, to present Taiwanese artist Ivan Liu (劉辰岫)’s artwork from May 1 to 4. Liu’s interactive installation “Echoes of the Land (大地回音)” will showcase a distinctive fusion of art and technology.

Liu expressed his honor at being invited to the festival and said he hopes to demonstrate the magic that unfolds when science meets art, while also highlighting Taiwan’s vitality and creativity in experimental art.

Chang Yu-hsuan (張祐瑄), director of the Cultural Division of the TECO in Spain, remarked that “Echoes of the Land” aims to guide viewers in exploring Taiwan’s innovations and breakthroughs in contemporary tech-art.

“Echoes of the Land” is an interactive installation that investigates the connection between human activity and natural phenomena, exploring how our actions can trigger seismic movements and alter the planet’s balance. The installation combines a mechanical kinetic device with motion sensors and advanced sound techniques, such as granular synthesis.

As one of Spain’s premier digital technology and art events, L.E.V (Laboratorio de Electrónica Visual) is a platform of production, promotion and experimentation related to electronic sound creations, audiovisual creations and digital art.
