Themed around "home trip," the 4th Filmosa Festival will launch 12 screening programs and symposiums featuring 10 Taiwanese films, at Filmothèque in the Quartier Latin, France from Sep. 24 to 28, to convey the imagery that people inwardly explore the pace of their lives in the post-pandemic era.

Organized by the Filmosa association and the Taiwan Cultural Center in France, the festival is divided into three units including "Strange Movies (奇片異影)," "Natural Beauty of Formosa (福爾摩沙之美)," "Filmmaker of the Year (焦點影人)."

In "Strange Movies," Filmosa Festival offers three films including "I WeirDo (怪胎)," Asia's first feature film shot on an iPhone, "Get the Hell Out (逃出立法院)," and "The Fantasy of Deer Warrior (大俠梅花鹿)," a Taiwanese film in the 1960s.

In collaboration with the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute, "Natural Beauty of Formosa" presents three documentaries to introduce Taiwan's unique geography and ecological environment, including "Whale Island (男人與他的海)," "Black Bear Forest (黑熊森林)," and "Ocean (海)."

"Filmmaker of the Year" focuses on the works of Taiwanese director Cheng Yu-chie (鄭有傑) who is one of the representative directors of "Taiwan Post-New Wave Cinema," including "Dear Tenant (親愛的房客)," "Yang Yang (陽陽)," "Unwritten Rules (潛規則)," and "Summer, Dream (石碇的夏天)."

The Filmosa Festival was co-founded in 2018 by a group of students studying cinema and practitioners in France, with the goal of expanding the international visibility of Taiwanese films, promoting the excellent works of Taiwanese emerging film creators, and introducing Taiwan's diversity to French moviegoers.
