Taiwanese choreographer Wang Yeu-kwn (王宇光), who is also the artistic director of Shimmering Production (微光製造), is invited by the Spring Forward Festival to perform his award-winning performance "Beings (捺撇)" for the first time, along with 20 works from Europe and Asia. Hosted by Aerowaves, a European dance network, this year's festival will take place in Elefsina, Greece, from Apr. 28 to May 1.

In an interview with Central News Agency, Wang expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to perform and make connections at the event, "I look forward to hearing from European audiences, especially after the world has been profoundly affected by the pandemic for the past two years." He added that "Beings" is a duet performance that involves coordinated dancing of two dancers. Under the current social distancing restrictions, he is happy to be able to perform this dance.

According to Wang, in calligraphy, the character for "human" is composed of a "Piě (bend)" and a "Nà (slant)." This reminded him that the various relationships we’ve established with others make us who we are today. "Beings" focuses on a relationship between two people whose shift between opposition and harmony creates a new physical language.

Founded in 1996, Aerowaves is a cross-border dance performance network that offers opportunities to young artists in Europe. Today it is represented by 40 partners and associate presenters in 34 different European countries. The network is regarded as a highly iconic and influential online platform in the contemporary European dance industry.
