The Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, and the Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania are co-organizing the photography exhibition “Taiwan Two and Two.” The exhibition kicked off in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, on May 16, showcasing works by Lithuanian photographers Marius Jovaiša and Saulius Paukštys, and Taiwanese photographers Yang Che-yi (楊哲一) and Pan Chin-jui (潘勁瑞) until June 3.
“Taiwan Two and Two” depicts different facets of Taiwan, inviting the Lithuanian audience to learn about this island's stories. The exhibition will subsequently be staged in the Lithuanian cities of Kaunas (June 10 to July 7), Šiauliai (July 22 to Aug. 26), and Klaipėda (Sept. 9 to 29).
Director Yeh Wei-ni (葉瑋妮) of the Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in Germany noted that this exhibition resulted from the art residency program that invited Marius Jovaiša and Saulius Paukštys to Taiwan last year. She added that the division aims to introduce more artists and artworks from Taiwan to Vilnius to foster cultural exchange between both sides.
