With the support of the Ministry of Culture (MOC), Taiwanese illustrators Liu Zheng-kun (劉正堃) and Ho En-ning (何恩寧), along with curator Yen Ning-chih (顏寧志), have been invited to participate in the 11th LUSTR International Festival of Illustration and Comics, which is taking place from Sept. 20 to 28 in Prague, the Czech Republic.
Titled “Gardens of Paradise, Gardens Desolate: Nature and Landscape in Historical and Contemporary Illustration,” the festival takes visitors through the rich book culture depicting nature and landscapes, from late medieval herbariums to richly illustrated cabinets of curiosities of highly learned doctors, to contemporary illustrators whose work pays tribute to medieval illuminations and old prints.
Yen Ning-chih, curator of the Taiwan Illustration Fair, was invited to the LUSTR Festival for the first time last year. This year, Liu Zheng-kun and Ho En-ning join the festival in the central European country, bringing their unique creativity to the event through their distinctive illustrations. Both Liu and Ho will participate in seminars and workshops, where they will engage with readers in Czechia.
