TAICCA collaborates with European streaming platform to promote Taiwanese films in France

To increase international exposure for Taiwanese films, the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) collaborates with mk2, a famous film and television brand in Europe, to hold a film screening event dedicated to Taiwanese films titled "Bonjour La France, ici TaÏwan - From the Greats to the Brighters."

TAICCA invites Kuo Ming-Jung (郭敏容), a consultant for the film selection of Director's Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, to serve as a consultant for the film selection of the screening event. Focusing on different viewing channels and preferences, Kuo and mk2 joined hands to select Taiwanese films that are suitable for the French market. The lineup showcases diverse themes and different forms of expression from traditional and fantasy elements to recent romantic comedies, showing the changes in viewpoints in modern Taiwanese society.

Starting on Oct. 13, 21 Taiwanese films will be released on the streaming platform "mk2 Curiosity" as part of the segment "Guest of the Week" for three consecutive weeks, including the animated short film "Night Bus," animated feature film "Cities of Last Things (幸福城市)," drama films "The Great Buddha+ (大佛普拉斯)" and "Ice Poison (冰毒)," and more. After three weeks, mk2 will continue to release hand-picked Taiwanese films on the platform based on film reviews by the audience and data trends.

In addition, a physical screening of seven Taiwanese films will be held at mk2 Bibliothèque theater, ranging from "Mama Boy (初戀慢半拍)," "American Girl (美國女孩)," "The Fourth Portrait (第四張畫)," "On Happiness Road (幸福路上)," "The Road to Mandalay (再見瓦城)," "Missing Johnny (強尼。凱克)," to “The Assassin (刺客聶隱娘).”
