TAICCA showcases Taiwan's XR technological capacity at South by Southwest

Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) will be participating in the virtual South By Southwest (SXSW), the world's largest innovative creative content exhibition in the United States, from March 16 to March 20.

In a highly interactive website, the agency will present six immersive art pieces, displaying Taiwan's creative capacity with regard to the use of extended reality technologies.

The project — "FUTURE VISION LAB" — launched by the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB), involves super high-resolution images and an open exhibition platform to create a fully immersive experiential space, generated through artificial intelligence (AI) and images, with generative art and a high-speed computing platform.

"anpu – An ode to Moss: Musical Wander (安溥 - 蘚的歌唱 : 音境漫遊)," created by HTC Vive Original, Hi-Organic, Brogent Group and singer anpu (安溥), integrates somatosensory devices and virtual reality to develop a new immersive music listening experience.

"Through the Body (穿越身體)" by Virtual and Physical Media Integration Development Association of Taiwan (台灣虛實展演發展協會) uses immersive VR technology to take the audience on a journey across time in exploring the dynamics of power and political oppression.

"iStaging" employs technology that integrates machine and AI-based 3D content generation on the collaborative platform.

"XRSPACE MANOVA Creative Content Expo" fuses VR content with social networking platforms, allowing participants from across the world to engage with each other through their 3D avatars.

Finally, "Little Ant & Robot Café (小螞蟻與機器人咖啡館)" presents an innovative business model aimed at fostering deeper connection between artists and communities in addition to reducing our ecological footprint.

TAICCA hopes that through transactions made at prominent international exhibition markets along with different assistance mechanisms, it will be able to foster further international cooperation.

Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW is known for its conference and festivals that brings together the interactive, film, and music industries.
