The largest book festival in the United States, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, will take place at the University of Southern California (USC) campus on April 23 to 24. The Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles partners with the National Museum of Taiwan Literature for the first time to present "Literature and Migration: Flowing Across Words," featuring 7 Taiwanese literary works.

The titles include "The Stolen Bicycle (單車失竊記)" by Wu Ming-yi Wu (吳明益), "Running Mother and Other Stories (奔跑的母親)" by Guo Songfen (郭松棻), "Drifting (飄泊)" by Dominic Cheung (張錯), "The Soul of Jade Mountain (玉山魂)" by Husluman Vava (霍斯陸曼.伐伐), "Sailing to Formosa: A Poetic Companion to Taiwan (航向福爾摩莎—詩想台灣)" edited by Michelle Yeh (奚密), N. G. D. Malmqvist, and Xu Huizhi (許悔之), "A Guide to Cultivating Well-Read Youth: A Taiwan Literary History Textbook (文青養成指南:臺灣文學史基本教材)" edited by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, and "Queer Taiwanese Literature: A Reader (臺灣同志文學讀本)" edited by Howard Chiang (姜學豪).

Established in 1996, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is held every April at the USC, annually drawing approximately 150,000 attendees. This year, the Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles joins with Taiwan Tourism Bureau at the Taiwan Booth, featuring travel literature from Taiwan and lifestyles of health and sustainability. All are welcome to explore Taiwanese literature at Booth #161 and post the event on social media to receive a free book.

A whale is designed to be the key visual of the theme, as it flows and swims across the ocean and mountains to reveal the vividness and fantasy of Taiwanese literature. Moreover, associate professor Howard Chiang, editor and translator of "Literature From Taiwan (臺灣文學書系)," is invited to the University of California, Santa Barbara on April 27 to discuss Taiwanese literature.
