Taiwanese documentary screening tour takes place in Greater Los Angeles

Taiwanese documentary director Lee Ching-hui (李靖惠) is going on a screening tour from Jan. 23 to Feb. 4 in Greater Los Angeles, U.S., promoting her latest work “Come Home, My Child (愛子歸來).”

Lee Ching-hui is an independent filmmaker from Taiwan. She is a pioneer in focusing on disadvantaged social groups such as the elderly, women, migrant workers, and long-term caregivers. She was recognized internationally in 2012 with “Money and Honey (麵包情人),” a documentary about Filipino caregivers in a nursing home.

Representing Taiwan, “Come Home, My Child” premiered in the 24th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival in November 2023 and was selected in the Asian American Panorama.

“Come Home, My Child” narrates the history of the American Dream through the lens of three women and their bond with inmates in America. Bringing together their stories, this documentary reveals hard truths of the unpredictable ups and downs in life, while showcasing the power of women in contemporary society.
